It’s time for America to shuck the reliance on toilet paper and get civilized.

In a surge that very few saw coming, as the COVID-19 pandemic spread there was a run on toilet paper. Yes, of all the products for people to run out and stock up on — which, it should be noted, is incredibly not what we should be doing at this moment — toilet paper was one of the main ones. Why exactly, we aren’t sure. There have been some reports of some people having problems with their digestive tracts, but that hasn’t been widely reported. Still, for whatever reason, people ran to the grocery store in droves and packed carts full of TP. And while that has left some stores completely empty, some chose an alternate direction: bidets.

Tushy, a provider of bidet attachments, is reporting record days in terms of sales amid the COVID-19 outbreak — the virus has also been called the novel coronavirus. In an email to Out, the company says sales began to ramp up on March 9th, with numbers sometimes reaching 10 times the company’s normal figures. There have been multiple days of over $500,000 in sales and even a $1 million day at one point.

“We have been saying since 2014 that bidets will replace toilet paper and that Tushy was going to be the brand to make bidets mainstream in America,” Jason Ojalvo, CEO of Tushy, tells Out in a statement. “Our goal has always been to save the 15 million trees that are getting flushed down every year, save billions of gallons of water required to make the toilet paper and actually help clean American bottoms properly, once and for all. These last two weeks have created a completely ‘new normal’ for our company’s daily revenue numbers, solidifying Tushy as the modern bathroom brand.”

As a response to all of the demand, the company was forced to move its entire line to pre-order, which wa a first for the brand. They have since ramped up things and customers can get free shipping which delivers in mid to late April while priority shipping is listed as “next business day.” The line includes a Classic version for $79, a premium Spa version for $109, and a Travel version for $29 — note: you should not be traveling!

Maybe after all is said and done, America will come out of this with better butt health over all.
