Do not panic because the toilet rolls are about to run out — there are other solutions.

Rarely have our grocery stores gaped so empty on dry goods and hygiene items as right now. The authorities’ recommendations that the public should stay at home to reduce the spread of infection have triggered a wave of hoarding buying behaviors. In recent weeks, the media has on several occasions reported on how both Swedish and international grocery stores completely sold out of a very special product: toilet paper.

However, it is not possible to find any evidence that hoarding contributes with any benefit, on the contrary. The fact that fully healthy people clear the store shelves risks leading to a dangerous situation for those who do not have the opportunity to get back and forth to the stores. According to an article in Expressen , there is also no risk that the toilet paper will run out — the factories announce that production will continue as usual and there is thus no reason to worry.

But if there is now no risk that the toilet paper will run out, then why do people still pick up in abundance? According to psychologist Kata Nylén, it is based on the fact that we humans are social animals that imitate other people’s behavior:

- If we see that the toilet paper shelves or pasta shelves are empty, we are asked to take those last packages, because it seems to be something that others take. It is possible that many people hoard toilet paper because everyone else does.

What can you do then instead of dampening your growing anxiety that the rollers will soon run out? According to GQ Australia , it has now become increasingly popular to acquire the somewhat forgotten, but oh so ingenious gadget, which not least Café columnist Nisse Hallberg declared in love : the bidet.

For a long time, this was something you came across in luxury hotel bathrooms or in Japan. But in its simplest form, it is actually just a hose in your toilet that cleans where it is needed. In recent years, several companies have started offering a variety of bidet variants, which can be easily attached to your toilet — without you having to hire a plumber.

3 neat and decently affordable bidets:

1. TUSHY Classic

Tushy Classic is really easy to install and above all an affordable product. Just like its sibling Tushy bidet, you control the intensity of the spray with a dial on the side.

More info about the product can be found here .

2. Sonny Microshower

Sonny is a rechargeable and portable bidet that has not yet been launched for sale, as the company is currently promoting a crowdfunding campaign to be able to finance the end product. If you donate to the campaign right now, however, you have the chance to have a prototype (which is surprisingly good-looking) sent home.

More info about the product can be found here.

3. Toto washlet

The most important properties of a bidet are the ability to regulate water temperature and water pressure. But if you are looking for that little extra, such as different spray settings and heated seat, the Toto washlet is probably something for you.
